Summary:
In Chapter 29, Scout recalls things from what she heard and saw when the incident took place. Heck Tate discovers marks on Scout's ham costumes, that seemed to resemble knife slashes. Thankfully, Scout was not harmed by the attempt of murder, yet Jem had become unconscious. At first Atticus thought it was Jem who has killed Bob Ewell as they had found his dead body, but Mr. Heck soon discovers it is not him. Scout soon finds out how Boo Radley was the one who saved, yet had to kill Bob in order to do so.


Character Profiles:

Jem Finch: 
Jem is Scout's brother, and son of Atticus. He starts maturing as he takes more responsibility- in this case, dropping and picking up Scout Finch. Even though he tries helping out Scout and trying to defend her when fighting, he falls to the ground and becomes unconscious.

Scout Finch:
Scout is the main character of the book. In this chapter, she realizes how prejudice can easily affect people blindly, as she sees that Boo is a normal, innocent human being. Surprisingly, she's the one who starts the conversation with Boo, saying "hey."

Atticus Finch:
Atticus is the father of Jem and Scout. He is extremely polite and always behaves like a gentlemen. He treats everyone equally, as he has a black cook and supported Tom Robinson in the case. Even though Jem is his son, he still isn't scared of accusing him as the murder, as apparently, he thought was the truth. Thankfully, it was not.

Boo Radley:
Boo Radley is the mysterious neighbor that everyone is frightened of, yet are eager of knowing more about him. He finally comes out of the hidden in this chapter, and represents the "mockingbird," a very significant symbol in the novel.


Setting:

The setting of this book takes place in Maycomb County, Alabama. However, the events in this chapter is set in the Finches household, after being rescued from the attempted attack.
